Nate has been in the advisory business for over 25 years. He is a co-founder and the Director of Portfolio Management at Council Oak Wealth Advisors. He manages the firm’s discretionary investment portfolios and provides advisory services for high-net worth individuals and affiliated non-profit entities. This includes option exercises, corporate insider trading abilities, deferred compensation plans, business succession planning, and merger and acquisition consultation.

Nate grew up on a farm in Southeast Kansas, and graduated from Bartlesville, OK High School. He attended Stanford University, where he was a member of the wrestling team, and graduated from the University of Tulsa, majoring in finance. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation from the CFA Institute. The CFA program is one of the highest distinctions in the investment management profession.

Nate and his wife Madison live in Broken Arrow.   Nate previously lost his wife, Kim, after 25 years of marriage.   Nate proudly calls his three stepsons his own.  Madison’s son Jackson attends Monte Cassino, a Benedictine Catholic School in Tulsa.  Kim’s sons, Caleb (Tiffany) and Josh (Denise) both live in the Tulsa area with their children Jess, Ellington, Gabriel, and William.

Areas of service include President of the Board of Governors at the Summit Club, member of the University of Tulsa Collins College of Business Executive Advisory Board, Committee co-Chair for the 2007 PGA Championship at Southern Hills, Tulsa Sports Commission board member, Bartlesville Pony League Baseball President and coach, coach of the Bartlesville Wrestling Team, and member of the Friends of Finance board at the University of Tulsa.

Of particular pride to Nate is his relationship with the Student Investment Fund (SIF) at the University of Tulsa. In the 1990’s, Nate’s class was the first to purchase an individual stock for the Fund – then valued at a few hundred thousand dollars. Today, Nate serves as Chairman of the SIF advisory board, and the Fund recently hit a new high of $8 million. The Fund provides scholarships for the Collins College of Business students.
