Jim is a co-founder and managing member of Council Oak Wealth Advisors. He brings 35 years of experience in advising clients and managing their wealth. In addition to his role as relationship manager, Jim oversees the firm’s compliance and operational matters.

Jim holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) professional accreditations. He has extensive experience in and knowledge of financial, retirement, and estate planning for his clients. Jim specializes in assisting families as they move into their retirement years and prepare to pass their financial assets, family businesses, and legacy real estate on to the next generation. As a business owner and real estate investor, Jim understands the unique daily challenges of the self-employed. He is knowledgeable in the areas of new business structures, employment, insurance, and employee benefits.

A native Tulsan, Jim is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He and his wife, Mary, have two adult married children, Abby (husband Hart) and Sam (wife Bailey), and one fantastic grandson named Cal. Outside of the office, Jim likes to volunteer and give his personal time to multiple charities. He is a past board chairman of the Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa Endowment Committee and The Bridges Foundation. Jim is an Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa where he has been a loyal and active member for over 50 years.
